Wilde Inspiration - The Influence for It's Wilde (by Brog):

Before the song was written and the CD was recorded and named, my only knowledge of the Irish author, poet and playwright Oscar Wilde was knowing his name and that is was associated with the play “The Importance of Being Earnest”.  However, in the never ending search for influence for lyric writing, one evening I heard some literary quotes being traded off between two persons in a TV show setting that I cannot even remember now, but two quotes from Oscar Wilde caught my ear as being particularly stylishly witty, and when I did a search for a list of literary quotes, many quotes were listed by various writers but it was mentioned that Wilde had so many known quotes that there was a sub-section to click to look at the list of them.  From this list I read many of Wilde's quotes which I found to be witty and many of which to be poignant for our times even though they were over 100 years old.  So, I jotted down about a dozen of these quotes to see if inspiration could come from them, and after a few hours a day for a few days a pattern was found in a few quotes which were formed into the verses of the song “It's Wilde”, the verses which meld together to form a somewhat “what's best” for a relationship.  I hope I have not infringed on Wilde's work and do hope the song is found to be entertaining, informative, and maybe influential towards others' discovery of Wilde's quotes, or even better in a witty sort of way, couples advice for a better relationship!

What came as an added creative bonus was that “wilde” as a word ended up as inspiration for the CD cover art because it was discovered that this spelling is the obsolete spelling of “wild”, and so you can imply from three of the cover pics what is being represented or said there with the 4th pic being of Oscar Wilde to pay homage to his inspiration for the title song.
