Welcome to The Image of Blue's website announcing the release of their blues EP “It's Wilde”. This is a 5-song EP consisting of five originally written and recorded tracks with two of those tracks added as 6th and 7th “bonus” tracks since these have slightly different lead or rhythm instrumentation from the originals. Please see the “It's Wilde - The EP” section of the website where you can purchase a CD or download as many of the songs as you like and even download the CD artwork so you can assemble and burn your own CD at home. The site and CD artwork also contain both the band's and the label's contact info, so please feel free to contact us with questions, comments, and reviews - we are anxious for feedback!
About the Music:
Our blues is not completely traditional in the sense of the classic 1940's, 1950's and 1960's blues, nor does it completely mimic the classic English blues period, nor do we have a current sound of today's blues, but our blues does contain many of the elements of what lovers of blues would want and expect from a blues song from all of these periods including:
- Les Paul lead tones in the songs “There's No Black or White to Your Blues”, “Not Smitten” and Can't Image That".
- Traditional electric harp tone in the lead of "It's Wilde".
- Drum styles that shuffle to straight rock beats, and more….
- Tambourine, cowbell and shaker providing blues percussion textures in “It's Wilde” and “Can't Imagine That”.
- Saxophone lead and accompaniment in “Fool's Errand”.
- Hammond organ in “It's Wilde” and added piano on the bonus version of "Fool's Errand".
- Vocal stylings from traditional blues growl to the Plant-Esque delivery in “It's Wilde” to the call-and-response verses of “Can't Imagine That”, all with great harmony backgrounds and fun backup accents as in “Fool's Errand”.
- Blues chord structures and guitar riffs with walking bass throughout the songs.
This is our debut EP, and the band is going to continue to record and release via our website. At this time we have decided that for the moment digital releasing is not for us since artists appear to give up certain rights and/or control of their songs with digital distribution, however, we are not shutoff from it and will readdress it in the near future.
We thank you for your interest!!
